Sally: Women of the Dunes. “Dolce & Gabbana” painted-on sunglasses à la Edith Zimmerman. Lace ribcage. A heavy collar of chipped red stone, or possibly rusted-over iron. Gold cameos. I bought a metal snake necklace similar to this in China (except it only cost me $2). Imagine that necklace, but twice as thick, and covered in snakeskin, real or false.

Laid up in bed sick and coughing. Please excuse the delay!
Aurélie: The music video for “Why Don’t You Love Me?”–particularly the martini-swilling, tear-streaked incarnation of Beyoncé. Cobblestones and felt. Vika Gazinskaya. Stigmata, but inside the shoe the metal has to curve around the foot to support it. Zippers creating adjustable holes where the arms stick out. But wear this with something inside, please.

Chisato: The telescope octopus and other creatures of the Mariana Trench. Stretchy chaps over a short skirt. A squared-off headband and a bow on the zipper (it’s not a real bow—tug it up and down using the loops). Gift wrap ribbon. Jellyfish.

Pauline: A recursive dress featuring a girl wearing a dress featuring a girl wearing a dress featuring—and so forth. I had a set of four tiny plastic bears when I was little that were covered in some kind of cheap velvety finish. One of them was named “Dainty” before I knew what the word meant—I simply liked the sound of it. I imagine those cat earrings would feel the same to the touch. Mesh dress with doubled (and tripled) mesh layers where the dress is recursive, or is that gimmicky? Heavily jeweled gloves.
(I just got back from Stumptown and boy are my stumps tired. Back on track this weekend.)
